ACT

Exemptions:

-ACT Full Exemption: Combined score of 40 on the on the English and Reading (E+R) tests and a score of 22 on the Mathematics test taken on or after February 15, 2023. There is no composite score.

-ACT Partial Exemption: Combined score of 40 on the on the English and Reading (E+R) tests or a score of 22 on the Mathematics test taken on or after February 15, 2023. There is no composite score.

-The use of scores from both the ACT administered prior to February 15, 2023, and the ACT administered after February 15, 2023 is allowable, as long as the the required score requirements are met.

-Students not exempt in one or both areas must take a TSI Assessment in the area(s) not met.

-ACT scores are valid for 5 years.

UTSA accepts ACT scores for admission purposes as long as it has been taken within five years of high school graduation. If it was taken five years or more after high school graduation, prospective UTSA students must retest or have other admissions criteria applied. See the UTSA Admissions office for more information.

UTSA requires that the writing portion of ACT be taken and submitted on the same test date as the other subject areas.
